Els dies 22, 23 i 24 de gener els alumnes del centre han pogut gaudir d'una estada d'esquí, una activitat molt enriquidora que els nostres alumnes més grans tenien moltes ganes de tornar a viure i que els novells volien experimentar. Ens hem allotjat a Llívia, indret de Catalunya que els nostres alumnes han pogut conèixer d'una forma peculiar: amb el joc de pistes de la segona tarda d'estada. Tots els alumnes han participat d'aquest joc assolint diferents rols i treballant col·lectivament.

Hem esquiat a Font Romeu i Les Angles, dues estacions d'esquí de la Cerdanya francesa, on hem pogut posar de manifest l'esperit de superació, les ganes d'aprendre, el companyerisme i la capacitat de gaudir dels nostres alumnes.

Els tres dies hem tingut una climatologia espectacular que ens ha permès gaudir encara més de la neu. Alguns alumnes ja havien esquiat i han millorat molt la seva tècnica, però els nostres debutants van poder veure els fruits dels seus esforços i ja baixaven per pistes que el primer dia semblaven estar lluny del seu abast.

També cal dir que Intercerdanya i Camp Base, l'agència amb la qual hem anat, ens ha ajudat molt: l'organització, la professionalitat i alhora la germanor amb la qual ens han tractat han fet que hagi estat una gran experiència que esperem poder continuar gaudint en un futur.

El divendres passat, l'alumnat de 4t de l'ESO va participar de la xerrada organitzada pel Ricard, promotor escolar gitano del nostre centre.

En aquesta ocasió el Ricard, ens va parlar de la persecució i extermini que va patir el poble gitano als camps de concentració nazi i de com encara no se'ls reconeix com a víctimes de l'Holocaust. Una atrocitat poc estudiada i que ha quedat a l'ombra del per tothom conegut holocaust jueu.

Durant la xerrada, vam veure el documental Samudaripen (que significa matança en romaní) un recordatori dels millers de romanís que van morir sota el règim nazi. Supervivents i familiars parlant en primera persona de la seva experiència i també el viatge que van fer el 2014 a Cracòvia nois i noies de tota Europa per commemorar l'holocaust gitano.

Una bona oportunitat per entendre i recuperar la memòria històrica de col·lectius silenciats i invisibilitzats com és el poble gitano, alhora que un recordatori de la importància de treballar per la pau, la dignitat i l'entesa entre els pobles.

I am Karol Camargo, and I was a student at Institut Europa. During the years I studied there,

I participated in an Erasmus program in Finland, which was a fantastic experience. It allowed me to meet many new people from different countries and I significantly improved my English skills.

I am delighted that this experience has motivated me to pursue another Erasmus program at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. I am very thankful for this opportunity; if it hadn't been for my experience at the school, I wouldn't have applied for this Erasmus.

I want to thank my teachers, especially Pilar, because she instilled in us the love for travelling and exploring new places.

Sunday 19

This week (from 19th to 25th of November), our group of students are meeting their Erasmus partners and host families in the welcoming Turkey in order to share their knowledge on global warming

We will share our findings on the topic and delve into the matter to find some solutions. Let's bear in mind that change starts with ourselves!

Monday 20

First day, first impressions. Thanks to the warming welcome, we adapted pretty quickly to the time change. The Adhan (or the Islamic call to prayer) added some colourful music to our early start. Turkey was ready to kick off!

Ice breakers have been the excuse to get to know our partners better, with whom we've set out on a journey to tackle global warming.

Some pleasant and cultural stroll around Samsun and some of its highlights helped us become familiar with the city that is hosting us: The Statue of Honour introduced us to the influential big name of Atatürk; in the Panorama Museum, we learned a bit more about the founding father of Turkey, and we finished our walking tour in the Foreigners' Bazaar, where we came into contact with the cultural tradition of bargaining.

Tuesday 21

In our second day in Samsun, it was time to get in contact with nature and spend the morning wandering around the wilderness of Canik Forest. It looked like it was going to drizzle all day long, but soon, a hazy sunshine shyly broke through the clouds.

We finished our walk visiting the Canik Orman Okulu, a school that focuses on finding ways to mix the learning of sustainability with raising awareness about the need of taking care of mother nature. We enjoyed playing team building games and had a great time.

In the evening, our host families lavished all sorts of traditional Turkish dishes on us. They filled up both our hearts and stomachs!

Wednesday 22

The day started piecing together fragments of the fascinating story of the matriarchal society created by the Amazon warriors, who allegedly occupied this land and severed their breasts to fire arrows more easily.

Later, we had the chance to embark on a yacht tour that was cancelled yesterday because of the weather conditions. We finally sailed across the Black Sea, tasted the distinctive simit, felt the gusty wind, and got carried away, moving Turkishly to the sound of music while we wholeheartedly embraced the moment like the seagulls that glided over our heads.

We finished our walk tour where we started: literally at the foot of the statue of an empowered female warrior.

Thursday 23

The day started with each team showing their presentations about global warming. To understand how this issue affects our daily lives, we all had previously conducted research in our countries. We also tried to share strategies on how we can address this issue.

After coming up with some ideas about what we could do, a contest was held to decide which was the best awareness campaign that we could bring to our schools so that we could be part of the solution and not part of the pollution.

We finished with the certification ceremony, held by the vice principal, that ended in front of the school's wall of fame, which bears the signature of every Erasmus student that is hosted.

We will share our findings on the topic and delve into the matter to find some solutions. Let's bear in mind that change starts with ourselves!

Friday 24

On our last day of work, students have created two posters: one to raise awareness about yesterday's chosen campaign (a challenge to promote reusing clothes by encouraging students to exchange theirs), and a second one about the issue at stake (global warming).

We have also celebrated Teacher's Day with the school staff and have built a domino run with the "Erasmus +" letters, which we also toppled.

After a week of sharing unforgettable moments, it has been time to exchange fond farewells and send our best wishes.

Our journey back home will start at 4 in the morning. We have already packed a handful of ideas to bring back to our countries with a view to rising to the major climate change challenge.

Saturday 25, Goodbye

Our students are back home!

		Sunday 22 Our Erasmus week in Portugal Our Erasmus students are going to spend a week( from the 22nd to 28th) in Lisbon working on the topic of deforestation. They have prepared a presentation about their role model and another one about the topic. They will see their partners'presentations and in international groups they will try to find solutions to solve this project. We wish them a wonderful working week there. Monday 23 After breakfast, we went to school where nice ice-breaking activities had been prepared to create a good atmosphere and know each other better. The morning ended with a warming welcome speech given by the school headmistress. In the afternoon, we could discover the most important places in Lisbon and its culture thanks to the sightseeing activity organised by the Portuguese students of tourism who were our guides. During the tour, we could appreciate the good relationship among the students, speaking in English and laughing all the time. 		Tuesday 24 This morning we have visited Monsanto forestal park, the first one opened in Europe. The visit began with an introduction given by a Professor, then there was a guided visit along the park where we could see the importance of planting some trees to preserve the biodiversity, to prevent the devastation caused by forest fires and floods and to save our planet. The students planted a tree at the end of the activity. In the afternoon we attended a lecture given by a member of the Zero association which promotes actions to stop environmental degradation and unsustainable use of natural resources. Wednesday 25 Our Erasmus day has begun with the students' presentations about Deforestation. They explained to us the situation in their country, causes, examples, consequences and campaigns carried on to stop deforestation and protect the planet. Thanks to the presentations, we could get an idea of the current situation. After the break, a professor from the European University, Joana Terra da Motta gave a speech about deforestation and wildfires and made the students participate, asking them questions related to their countries. The activity ended with a campaign to raise awareness and look for solutions where the students in international groups created posters which were hung on the wall of the room. 		Thursday 26 The students have used the data collected from the activities, workshops, visits and lectures in Portugal to create posters about Deforestation. Later, they made a video about their week in Lisbon. In the afternoon, we watched the videos, got the certificates, and a nice farewell party was prepared for them. Friday 27, Our last day in Lisbon. This Erasmus meeting in Lisbon finished with a trip to Sintra where a guide explained to us all the story of the gardens of the castle and how the biodiversity and the trees are protected to stop deforestation. Then, we visited the chapel, its different rooms and thanks to this visit we could realise how the Royal Family lived, their customs and get a general idea about the life in those centuries. 		Saturday 28, Goodbye Lisbon Today we have been to Belem where we saw the Jeronimos Monastery, the Belem Tower and the Monument of the Discoveries. As it was raining cats and dogs, we decided to go to sightsee Chiado district and we said Goodbye to Lisbon eating a delicious . An unforgettable experience thanks to Erasmus!!
